Bookshelf speaker rec

Hi everyone.

I am in the market for a pair of speakers, bookshelf, that have a good amount of low end. Will be using them with a Naim CD player > Conrad Johnson pre > B&K power amp.

Music is everything from Metallica and AC/DC to Beethoven and John Williams.

Room is 22x19 with a vaulted ceiling that goes from 9ft to 13 ft. I will have some carpet, and plan on putting up some acoustic panels, to, at the very least, cut down on the ambiance/reflections.

Wanted to get some suggs on what to listen to when I go to my local store(s). I would like to keep the pair under $5k if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Philharmonic Audio BMR Tower or the Ascend Acoustics ELX towers

Looks like two victims right there! Thx.

I picked up a pair of Ascend Acoustics ELX towers with the RAAL tweeters last year, really impressive. The treble detail and ease of presentation still amazes me. Some thoughts and my setup here: https://forum.ascendacoustics.com/home/forum/ascend-acoustics-discussions/loudspeakers-subwoofers-accessories-electronics/122918-elx-raal-towers-another-setup-journey-and-review-from-a-self-proclaimed-gear-head

Superb presentation across the frequency range, they really throw a huge soundstage for their modest footprint.

To fill your room with a bookshelf look at the Arendal 1528 Bookshelf 8.  They are 3-way speakers that will play fairly neutral and also very loud if you’re cranking AC/DC.  They are $5200 US.  The matching stands are extra.  60 day buy, try and return for free if you’re not satisfied.

A bit over your budget, but how about something like the KLH Model 7?  The Model 5's are well under your budget, as well.
