In that price range and new look at the Philharmonic Audio BMR Tower or the Ascend Acoustics ELX towers. Both under $5k. If you choose to stay with bookshelf speakers in that room the Fritz Carbon 7 and a pair of subs to fill the room.
Bookshelf speaker rec
Hi everyone.
I am in the market for a pair of speakers, bookshelf, that have a good amount of low end. Will be using them with a Naim CD player > Conrad Johnson pre > B&K power amp.
Music is everything from Metallica and AC/DC to Beethoven and John Williams.
Room is 22x19 with a vaulted ceiling that goes from 9ft to 13 ft. I will have some carpet, and plan on putting up some acoustic panels, to, at the very least, cut down on the ambiance/reflections.
Wanted to get some suggs on what to listen to when I go to my local store(s). I would like to keep the pair under $5k if possible.

I picked up a pair of Ascend Acoustics ELX towers with the RAAL tweeters last year, really impressive. The treble detail and ease of presentation still amazes me.
