Auralic Support

@norcalal Hmm, glad to hear you found the solution in another streaming service. I would like to tell you that I have the same issue with Tidal via the Lightning app on an iphone. giving the error on my iphone and on the display of the Auralic. It looks as if it flashes through the playlist, displaying a streaming error for every track.

As if the playlist isn't able to find the tracks within Tidal. Choosing the playlist again solves the problem. A second issue i have is using the Spotify connect from any phone, android or iphone, after a few songs the playing stops and the Spotify stream on the phone is paused. If you press play, the sound comes from the phone, so the connection to the Auralic is broke. connecting again solves the problem, but I'm not happy with this behaviour. I post this because in the threat I've read that perhaps more users would have this problems.

I don't have an account for Roon, but for shure it's next on my list to test the Auralic.

I have an Aries G1.1 as well. For a good while I had rendering issues that would cause a stall. I tried many suggestions in the device and modem settings (bot wifi and cable). My music room is our sleep out and I added a good wifi extender and it fixed to issue on the lightening and qobuz apps (and sounds much better). 

My Auralic Aries WiFi had been working perfectly for many years.   A few months ago, it started to exhibit similar issues as the OP described.   I rebooted the modem, router and streamer several times. I also tried a newer iPad.  The same issues remained.

In the meantime, I’ve been experimenting with swapping different 12vdc LPS’s with different components to observe any changes in SQ.    A couple of weeks ago, I swapped the LPS that was powering my modem.   The issues with the Auralic Aries disappeared.    It was working perfectly again.   I investigated by reinstalling the former LPS back with the modem.   Sure enough, the Aries was working perfectly again with the old LPS.  

My guess is that the AC power cord to the modem’s LPS - or the DC umbilical cord to the modem had worked itself loose.  It just needed to be plugged in tighter.    Over the years – behind my equipment rack - I’ve discovered loose power cord connections at the wall or IEC inlet.  Over time, the friction fittings work themselves loose.  After all, AC does create mechanical vibration.   Or it could be gravity.  So, it doesn’t hurt to double-check all cable connections once in a while.

Something many Wifi users do not realize, is that you may get better wifi reception in your domain if you have the ability to lower the wifi radio transmission power. Default out of the box is usually FULL power radio which broadcasts your network to all your next door neighbors who can clog up your radio channels regardless if they are not logged into your SSID. Sounds counterintuitive, I know. As a demonstration, go add a Wifi device to your network, how many SSID's can you see...that is all your neighbors at full throttle wifi power. If you can see them, they are causing congestion on your wifi network. Take down their names and go knock on their doors and tell them to "TURN IT DOWN" :)

I run my wifi power at 50% (12 dBm out of 24 dBm), sometimes less depending how close my equipment is to the router/wifi. Yes, reception distance will suffer but channel congestion will be better and your wifi signal will be more reliable. I also reduce my channel width for the 5 Ghz network to 40 Mhz which also makes it less possible for other devices to share and clog it up.

Wifi can be tricky to get tuned just right and most streamer users just go with default and complain about the device/vendor for bad streaming. I have never had a problem with Auralic or any other wifi streaming device like my Apple TV 4K.
