used power amp under 1500

I started with a great system and I managed to downgrade it to an OK sound through a lot of trades, sales, questionable decisions and shrinking budget. (No regrets, it's been a fun journey.) I ended up with very low sensitivity, hard to drive speakers and now I need more power. Will 100 Watts be enough and is it OK and safe to buy used? Any brands that are a good value at $1500?

@jl35 I didn't know, thanks for the update :)

Good question about products that predate the change. Bryston doesn't say (see below), but a warranty is a contract, so whatever terms were in effect as of the date of purchase should be binding. Did they change terms recently?

Warranty Details

Bryston Analog Audio products are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for ten (10) years from the original date of purchase from an authorized dealer or distributor.

Bryston Digital products are warranted for five (5) years from the original date of purchase from an authorized dealer of distributor.

Bryston products having motorized moving parts, excluding motorized volume controls, are warranted for three years from the original date of purchase from an authorized dealer or distributor.

The warranty includes parts and labour. Warranty is limited to the first-time buyer and is non-transferable.

I am always “down” to one amp. I want the very best possible sound on my system. I only change my amp every seven years or so and that is with tremendous research, using old as my trade in, and doubling my investment. So, when the new one is in place my system achieves a whole new level.

@bikefi10 I did note it. I wish all manufacturers provided full specs.

@devinplombier with taxes and shipping it would be over $1700. The return option is nice but it would cost about $180 - shipping and 5% restocking.

(I was generous with my $1500 budget, it would be my absolute max, risking divorce)

Still, Bryston is high on my list, there are several on craigslist.
