Schiit Mimir impressions?

Now that it’s been out for a while, I’m wondering other’s opinions of the Mimir? I’ve been thinking about adding it with my Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2. Will I see a noticeable improvement over the Eversolo’s DAC? What about the lack of DSD? I'll be feeding it into a Schiit Saga+/Parasound A23 combo, speakers are old school KEF 104/2s w/KUBE.

You could try it out yourself for 2 weeks and return it if you don't care for it, subject to a 15% return fee.  That's the only way for you to know for sure. I don't think $45 and some shipping is too much to pay for a 2 week home trial given what some spend in pursuit of this hobby but others may disagree.

 

As for the DSD.issue, that depends on whether you play DSD music or not.  I have no recordings of that type so I don't care if DAC does it or not.

I use the Saga 2 with the Modius e, a great combination...Schiit told me the Modius is a little better than the Mimir if only used as a DAC, without the other features the Mimir offers...

I traded my Schiit Mjolnir v3 for a AsgardX with Mesh card on Saturday. I think that is the same as the Mimir. I can send you some feedback in a week or 2. I need a headphone adapter to arrive before I can listen. I never heard the Mesh card since the AsgardX was connected to the Guniger 2 and I listened to that.

BTW - the Saga 2 preamp that I had waiting for me on Sunday is really good. A steal really.
