On or Off - On or Off - Audio Electronics

Leave out the topic of Tube Gear - Do you believe that your equipment should be left on all of the time or turned off and on when you use it.  Several pieces of my system do not give you front panel access to power to turn them off.  Interested in your thoughts on SS Amps and Pre-Amps, etc...

What? Are you pro horse or something?  Just making conversation.  I enjoy direct input to my questions much more than digging up someone else's old dead horse bones.  I may want to reply or question someone's insight without wondering if they died along with their horse 5 years ago.

Let me know when you find a topic that is actually new or maybe even a slightly sick horse.  Enjoy the music...

I am always looking for a discussion.  Something like this jumps into the brain.

I have a Sumo Andromeda amp from the mid-80's. It has been on 24/7 for seven years without a hiccup. Same for the RGR 4 preamp. If a SS component is going to fail it will likely do it on turn on.

I am not sure when or why I started turning off gear.  When much younger I always left my system ready to go.  Maybe reflecting a perceived immortality at a younger age and then becoming a little more cautious.

My phono stages and DAC only turn off on the back panel.
