On or Off - On or Off - Audio Electronics

I leave on sometimes, standby other times.  Kinda depends on how I feel about it that day.  I do leave it off if I’m going to be gone for an extended period. I don’t notice any sonic difference between the two and I don’t how much it really matters as far as longevity of equipment but turning on/off does add power cycles to all the internal components.  You can always ask the manufacturer of your components for their take. This topic has been covered several times here if you’re just looking for information and not necessarily a discussion.

I leave class D amps, power conditioner, and streamer on all the time, unless we are going away for a month or more.  Everything else, which in my case includes tuner, cd player, and a Sony HAP-Z1ES are off unless in use.
