Just Stop! - Posting Audio Clips on YouTube

Does anyone else believe it is a very poor use of bandwidth for someone to try and show the quality of the sound produced by their $100k system on YouTube?  Playing an expensive speaker or component on video that then feeds into a microphone and is combined with the video and then posted to YouTube then plays through my tv speakers, soundbar, etc... Eve stranger is when they use this delivery method to A/B components.

I enjoy them, I think they are fun.  I’m under no illusions that they represent anything close to the actual sound if I were in the room.  Many are done well enough to tell subtle differences in speakers and gear if using headphones.  I often find myself feeling let down if a review doesn’t have a sound clip of the speaker under test.

g2the2nd  These are not my ProAc Studio 3s in a beautiful system. I do own the model and I do like watching this video. I do not believe that you can make any SQ evaluations via YT.

I’m not sure your YT link is a live recording. It’s pretending like a live but reserve for dubbing. Then it’s probably dubbing since there is no reason to hide the live recording.

Below is my system live recording. I tried to show it’s a live recording. I even speak at last seconds.

WT amp ultra (all-in-one streamer + DAC + Amp),

What people post on YT doesn’t bother me at all.

What does bother me is when an AG member posts YT videos of their products recorded under ideal conditions and compares them with “inferior” competitors products recorded by random people under crap conditions to market their products here for free, because they don’t have the wherewithal to even pay someone in India to build them a cheap but decent website (which would be a good place to start.)

@carlos269

 where you there for any of the commercially released recordings that you listen to on your home system? If you, like the rest of us, were not at the recording session then you rely on exactly what to confirm and validate that your system is rendering the audio recording accurately and conveying the information that was captured during the recording sessions?

This would have been really profound if you had started with “Were”.

@macg19 1) the editor on the forum only gives you a limited time to edit the posts, 2) the word was corrected later on in the statement, and 3) the question still remains unanswered.
