On a journey for the last couple of years

I have read with interest the feedback from the forums and enjoy hearing other perspectives. I have upgraded my system significantly and feel I am now chasing the perfect system, which as we all know does not exist. The last decision I need to make is to replace my Aragon mono blocks with new mono blocks.

Current System

SimAudio - 740P Pre Amp

SimAudio 260 D CD Player

SimAudio 310 LP Phono Amp

Project X Turn table with Ortofon Black Quintet

Sonus Faber Olympica 5 with Martin Logan Sub (which I may upgrade once mono blocks tested

I am looking to enhance the low end with more punch, the Aragon's are just not doing it and I am considering two SimAudio 761's, Mcintosh MC611, Audio Research Mono Blocks.

I will certainly test drive the amps before purchasing. Thank you for reading my post Happy New Year

I’m a McIntosh fan(see my virtual system) but  would do the following in this order:

1. Room optimization

2. Dual subs. I run two Legacy Audi Foundation subs. Made a gigantic difference.

3. Speaker placement and alignment in conjunction with #’s 1&2

4. Get the MC611’s. Heck. Just get them anyway. Hey. I’m a Mac fan. 😎

Knotscott to be honest no, what would I need to accomplish that? I can google :)

Jfrost thanks for making me laugh... I'm a Mac Fan too but the tariffs are a deterrent, unless of course they have been lifted, I will check into that

I’m running stereo rythmik E15hp2 and they’ve never let me down. I demoed the rel s/510 before selecting the rythmiks. They are servo controlled and will do pretty much anything you ask them to do, including rearranging the pictures in your walls

Hello @peterrock , lots of good replies!  And certainly not everyone agrees.  But two REL Carbon Specials is a great way to go (I have them so +1 @wswright20 !)

But I think and have found better amps make speakers sound better in many ways even if they can’t make them go lower. And more power is always good...more ease and effortless flow of music...With all that pretty Moon equipment I would go for the best Moon amps you feel like buying.  You can’t go wrong there, and you already have the 740P which is begging to be mated with North series amps!  It will sound better now and be ready for new speakers in the future, should you so decide.  Hello to all others with great advice!
