After I updated firmware on a Terminator Plus it would not work with my Iris. Denafrips told me the newer production (no model change) Iris's had firmware that was compatible. I was left with a paperweight. Would have been nice to be advised before the update the Iris would not work or been offered a discounted path to a compatible Iris. Their attitude was just move on.
I think Denafrips makes good products but there are many equivalent DAC's at similar price points that I would invest in a better company.
I scored an Antipodes S/20 DDC. Antipodes has an amazing support Forum and will at no charge login to my system and help with issues and updates. That's how a company should support its clients and products.
I have an old Antipodes Core, for some reason (I believe parts availability) they could no longer support it, they offered me a very generous upgrade path to current models even though my Core was functioning perfectly. At least I know if my Core has problems it is a paperweight, but that is my choice.
