Hegel Viking sound

I just purchased a Hegel Viking CD player. I am breaking it in and at about 100 hours. It is vocal forward and the trebel is not bright but to close for my comfort. Looking for ideas to tame it.

It seems like it could be several things: DAC implementation - Different digital-to-analog converters have distinct sonic characters. Maybe it's the DAC?
Analog output – Not sure what others say about this unit, but it could b the op-amps, capacitors, and circuit topology producing an overly "revealing" upper frequency character.
Or... maybe the power supply design and/or clock precision and jitter. I bet Hegel is not messing this up, though.

There’s no serious listening until after 2-500 hours burn in.

Next, try coaxial out into another DAC for comps, only after full burn in.

Patience…and leave it playing 196 hrs per week so just 2 weeks playing on loop.
