Douk Pro3 VU meters fidelity loss ?

Kinda miss the old days where many power amps had those big 'ol VU meters like my GAS Ampzilla I had back in the day. Really would like a McIntosh C50 or newer preamp that would include the beloved VU meters to entertain my Parasound JC5 amplifier. Money is quite relevant these days and wondering about the Douk VU Pro3 and how much fidelity would be lost running through  Canare 4S11 speaker cable. Has Anyone have tried this Douk unit ?

The VU meters will have absolutely no effect on the sound whatsoever. They are high impedance devices and the amplifier will not even know they are connected. I too enjoy a nice looking VU meter and they provide a visual reference of how loud you are listening.

Hi @duckey

I have these meters and love them.  An old thread about them vu-fun-for-200.

They ahve been connect to the 2nd line out of my ARC REF-2 and show the "volume".  At other times, they have been connected to the tape-out and are volume independent and I prefer this second configuration.

I do not detect any effect on the system's sound.

Go for it...they are fun.

mysearcher, I really don't follow you post above on your speaker wiring setup.

Do I run short speaker wires to the VUpro3 and then run the long 12ft speaker wires to my tower speakers?  "OR" can avoid this way of wiring ?
