Streamers Node Nano vs. Wiim

I think I'm going to demo both.

Any suggestions?

if you were able to notice a difference between the two that would be amazing! my only question is, why are you messing around with budget streamers? Between the two you spent almost $800 you’re just a few dollars away from something like an INNUOS that would completely destroy the two in sound quality. Just something to think about  

I haven’t owned the Nano but I have owned the Node N130 and the WiiM Ultra. The WiiM actually sounds a bit better if anything. 

The onboard DAC is what determines a streamer’s sound quality. The WiiM has a pretty good one. 

Pay no mind to the naysayers suggesting you should spend more. Most of them have speakers and rooms that are far greater bottlenecks than any streamer and/or DAC (not to mention many of them have ears as old as the hills). 
 

I have the Wiim Ultra and not the Nano.  I use an external DAC but two things that made me go for the Wiim are the software which is fantastic.  Easy to use from your phone or computer, navigation is great, has room correction/EQ.  I went with the Ultra because it allows me to connect a USB drive/HD and run my songs off of it like a server.   And the software is always updated and they listen to customers.

The built-in is DAC is good but a nice external DAC makes it sound a lot better.  And its a damn good price especially if you catch it on sale.
