There’s some good AI-generated music and it’s a great way for streaming services, like Spotify, to take away stream share from actual artists.
This would be especially concerning if their algorithms promote/push such AI-generated artists (created by Spotify) into users’ search results, Discovery Weekly, Daily Mixes, Daylist, and general “more of” suggestions which would then wield an unfair advantage of exposure and opportunity compared to humans.
I’m sure I’ve saved some tracks that are AI-generated, but hard to know for sure since Spotify doesn’t label whether a track or artist is AI-generated - supposedly they will begin to label this month, but we’ll see.
Whether it’s the future? To some extent, absolutely.
