Experience with stacked subwoofers?

I have seen a handful of responses to posts mentioning stacked line array subwoofers, like the stackable Rel 510s. Does anyone have a stacked subwoofer array in their system and can speak to their experience?  The marketing hype that Rel puts out about this has me intrigued. Their explanation as to why it’s awesome makes sense, but also I want to go beyond the marketing and hear about real experiences before I drop a bunch of dough on something like that.

How did you find going from dual to a four stack?

I had to completely reconfigure xover and gain, but once I got it dialed in soundstage became more expansive and added depth, and bass improved with more refinement and faster attack. The jazz double bass is one of my favorite instruments, and I also love listening to large scale orchestral music. Both benefited  quite a bit going from a pair of S/510 to a four-pack array. Adding the third pair improved things even more, especially with multi-dimensional soundstage, and improved decay on instruments. It sort of added that last bit of sparkle and finesse.

The four gave me more detail and speed.  It is just totally coherent.  Really a game changer.
