Ok, I'm done.
How long for an HDMI cable to break in.
I've been using an Audioquest Blueberry for a little while and just got the Vodka 48 8k/10k to compare. I'm not hearing initially much of a difference and certainly not $600 worth. Anybody else compare the two? Direction is correct. When I put the Vodka in I realized the Blueberry was in wrong!

@roxy1927 Not sure if it will help or not but I use an HDMI cable to connect my DtoD reclocker to my DAC (Holo May). Have tried several cables and did not hear much of a difference. As @richardbrand noted, the I2S was never meant to used to connect two components together so there is really no standard for it for manufacturers to meet. If you want to use I2S I would try to keep the length under 1 meter if possible. |
To those who think there is no "directionality" to 8K cables, think again. I just installed an 35 foot 8K cable through the baseboard and no, in this case there is no direction (I hope) because the cable is all wire. But..., some of the 8K cables actually have a module in them that changes the signal to run down a fiberoptic line, and these are directional! And, you also have to be more careful when pulling these cables to avoid breakage.

@toddalin that is because of the module on it, it’s probably a booster of some sort. |
