Classical Music - Check this out!!

I'm starting a Classical Music (cd) Collection and this seems to be a great resource.

I know this is a lot to ask, but most of the recommendation links are broken. Anyone have  some suggestions as to which are the best renditions of each work?

TIA

For Chopin Mazurkas, my favorite Chopin pieces, No one play them with the fluid simplicity of Rubinstein beaten at the post by Antonio Guedes Barbosa, because of his rythmical mastery on top of his fluid natural simple "élégance"...

Dance need rythm...

The mazurka imply a king of broken rythm almost no pianist is able to gave ...And with Barbosa you want to dance on Chopin  not listen only ...

There is two Barbosa version... My best one is the first, more spontaneous but almost impossible to buy...

The second one is anyway also top and in a way more  refined :

Classical.net is probably one of the most reliable sources of recommendations.  You can search the site for any piece you are looking for.

For Bach, you could do far worse than Hanssler’s 172 CD box set.

The cantatas can be a make-or-break thing, and Helmut Rilling’s set contained therein is well-regarded.  Everything else in that box is good or better, and you’ll have hours of enjoyment exploring every aspect of Bach’s music for a paltry $150.

Go to the Classical music section of Audio Asylum and watch for recommendations from Chris from Layafette and others.

Try Presto Classical's website: Presto Music | All things musical… on your doorstep

Then click on Classical, then Composers, then Bach.  There are almost 700 entries for keyboard music alone!

Pick from the top of the list.  You will see multiple review summaries, and you can play the start of every track.

You will see offers for silver disk and downloads.  You can also join their streaming service.

It might just be your perfect one-stop-shop.  It is mine!

Dave Hurwitz at Classical.net is the best resource for great recordings. He has great YouTube videos where he reviews and compares the best recordings and the website has a lot more. But he's fun to watch and has impeccable taste.
