Acoustics simple experiments blew my mind... Gear pieces dont blew mind, you can upgrade them all ...( i like my Sansui alpha but give me the money i will go higher even if it is a TOP vintage) A low cost well optimized system can blew your mind, it did for me... My AKG K340 is the only gear piece that ever blew my mind when optimized ( with a long period of learning though). I generally dislike most headphones claustrophobic unnatural timbre with artificial soundstage with no deep bass, for example a known reviewer paired a sub to a Raal headphone etc
