Speaker Positioning

Thanks. All I am researching have met room size criteria.

I think you will be fine, but speakers (all) will sound better with the recommended distance.  Rooms are rarely perfect and you can adjust other aspects to compensate.  

@gnoworyta What's wrong with the D9.2s? Are you having buyer's remorse? Did you do your due diligence before deciding on that model speaker?

1. I never said there was anything wrong with the D9.2's.

2. Remorse? I enjoyed them for 5 years.Did you ever consider that I may just wish for a change/upgrade, as many others do?

3. Yes. Why would you suggest I did not?

The distance to the wall behind has to do with the death of your sound field and also with bass response. The father out from the back wall the more realistic and less flat the sound becomes.  If you can live with flat, put them farther back.  Not for me however.  Can you experiment with a system, ie sliders etc,  to temporarily move them out when listening?
