Budget Powered Speakers

My 40 year old son split with his gf who owned the stereo. I am looking to get him powered speakers so that he can stream his phone and TV. I was hoping to spend under $500. Suggestions?

They are well reviewed, been around a long time and have all sorts of models to fit your budget
