Your greatest high end audio purchase!!!

My audiophile journey has extended to over 40 of adventurous sonic delight. Over the coarse of my over 40 year journey as an audiophile, like so my others, I cycled through a multitude of speakers, amps, cables, etc,. Now that I’m an old guy, I’ve pretty much settled on my "End-Game" audio system for the long haul, primarily because I simply love the way it sounds, and also because, at this juncture, I no longer have the will, nor do I have the desire to continue the crazy (but fun) merry-go-round of audio components in and out like I did in years past (my spouse and my wallet thank me). When I look back on all the high-speed audio gear that I’ve owned down through the years, and after giving it much insightful thought, I’ve come to the conclusion that, after everything was said and done, my beloved Revel Salon 2 speakers were my overall most pleasurable and greatest purchase of all. What was yours?

Audionet Humboldt integrated.  Excellent reviews, likely my end game.  Extremely fortunate to find an affordable used amp with the correct electrical voltage/frequency.

I don’t know if you can call JBL L65 high end, but I got a great deal. Still have them!

I was having an analog afternoon yesterday and was struck by the utterly amazing increase in aural palpability (if such a thing is possible) by changing from the Sutherland Duo to the Dos Locos.

Every audiophile criterion was improved, deeper bass, more luscious mid-range, sweeter more extended highs, wider and deeper soundstage and the ability to see individual singers and instruments.  The beauty and emotion of the performances were heightened significantly, from an already pretty high level; the combination of the Dos Locos and the Koetsu Rosewood Signature seems like a perfect match.

I upgraded my Kenwood receiver with a Son of

Ampzilla power amp, Soundcraftsman pre amp

my source was an Optonica granite base TT.

Music Reference RM9 amp

Music Reference RM5 MKII preamp

McIntosh MR 71 tuner

Proceed PCD2 cd player

Thorens TD125 MKII, Rega RB303 arm, Grado Red cart

ProAc Studio 1 speakers, Snell Type Eiii speakers, or Chateau Research 1.5 speakers

Meridian 551 int & 504 tuner

Unfortunately, all of these are long gone but these are the ones that I miss the most over the years
