Yes seeing and handling the physical music brings more senses into my memory recall. Once I put the CD down and start listening though the memories are the same. My favorite albums and songs each have a specific memory or memories attached.
Personality
I now find myself streaming most of the time. Although the SQ is really good, I realize there’s something missing. When I pull out a record or CD, each one seems to have a uniqueness or personality of its own which reflects when I first bought it or played it. Also each one seems to have a sound signature which I associate with it, making it more personal. I don’t get that with streaming
Does anyone else feel this way?

Most appreciate your sincerity, frankness, simplicity and direct questionings... Only a few "narrow mind" used to attack others posted their snarking remarks.. I appreciate your human quality and the fact that you were a musician... Thanks for all interesting discussion in the name of most and of myself ...

Speaking about classicals reading, i will recommend two very short novels, but which had the power to change your life, especially if combined together, because they appear at first totally opposite on their view of the meaning of all human history... The task which is assigned to us reading them , is to transform these two opposite visions of all human history in one vision coming from two perspectives:
Dostoieveski "the dream of a ridiculous man" Heinrich Von Kleist : " the puppets theater" So short they are they contain hidden half part of the mystery of human consciousness history...
task : unify their seemingly opposite views into ONE ...
I learned text analysis at thirteen. I taught it after ...This is one of my imposed task for student.
A Clue: There is hidden in these two works the secret revealed of the East and West relation and more even a better understanding of acoustics if we are able to relate these two "origin" tale about consciousness...

@mahgister it turns out both TIDAL and Qobuz have all the Auryn Haydn volumes. And on Qobuz all at 94kHz/24-bit. Listening to Op 1 now. On my little bedroom system (NAD M10 feeding DALI Menuet SEs) . Magnificent recording. Can’t wait to hear these recordings on my main system. thank you for the inspiration. |
