Power generator or Power Conditioner?

What is the updated conventional wisdom?   Power regenerator or Power conditioner?  So many more companies manufacture power conditioners.  Stereophile reviewed both the PS Audio and AudioQuest products several years ago with recommendations seemingly nuanced against one’s home electrical situation.   What say you?

What do your distortion numbers and incoming sine wave look like on the P20 scope? It sounds like you have pretty stable voltage, maybe all you need is a good conditioner. I think that @jsalerno277 gave a really good answer, but in the end it is really trial and error with different products.

Hi zlone (et al)--   to answer your questions:

---my incoming (from the outlet to the P20) distortion tends to be around 2 percent

---outgoing distortion (from P20 to my system components) currently shows.  0.1 percent.

---the incoming sine wave-- looks a bit jagged on the top and bottom (not sure how to read it) with the outgoing sine all the more rounded on top and bottom.

For distortion in general-- I have found the "low distortion" setting perhaps that much more clear for center channel dialogue than the "high distortion" setting.

Any additional thoughts?

Before spending that kind of stupid money get good male IEC, UPOCC or DUCC copper wire and connect a 100 watt 27R Aluminium power resistor to Live and Neuteral  and plug it into your wall outlet. Instantly you’ll notice a smoother, quieter, deeper soundstage and after 100 hrs you’ll notice scary black backgrounds, liquid mids and bass that will move you.

Sorry I have no link a local guy helping me walked me thru it. Get the best” I used a furutech NCF MALE, some old furutech DUCC copper wire approximately 8/10 inches for each L&N leg. Mounted the 100 Watt 27R aluminum power resistor on a piece of wood the same size has the resistor approx. 3 in long, used mundorf gold clip to attaching the resistor, super glued to the furutech ncf plug and plugged into a wall inlet. Not only did the system transform but the TV improved.
your welcome to PM me. There’s a lot of tweaks people can do to transform there system without spending stupid money. Being retired you learn to do a lot of research on this stuff and after 35 years in high end audio I learned a little .
