Rega P5 cables

This might not be the right forum but…….I have a Rega P5 TT that’s been modified over the years (Platter, bearing counter weights, Pwr Supply) but……the weak link now is/are the cart pins.  I’m thinking of replacing the either the pins (not easy to do with the cable still in the arm, OR the entire cable.  Is it a DYI? Or do I need to take it to a shop to have it done. Remove arm or send entire TT (doesn’t make sense). So DIY pins and whose do I use?  OR replace entire cable, DIY or send and and whose do I use?  What say you?  Thanks for you thoughts

I guess I'm not understanding, Are you un happy with the cartridge clips at the end of the wires? Or is it the male pins that are on the cartridge itself? If its the cable you want to replace, I would contact Take Five Audio, you can do it yourself if your keen with a soldering iron. REGA and many other cable companys like Morrow Audio, The cable Company, Signal Cable to name a few, make replacement cables for the REGA tables/tonearms.

One of the clips from the arm to the cart broke away from the wire. I soldered it back. The other clips are fragile and I’d like to replace them. So I can either buy new clips or new wires with clips or just send the arm out and have a new complete cable installed. That’s what I’m trying to decide. I hope that clarifies what I’m trying to determine
