I had the same interruptions while playing Qobuz naive. Went through the DS lighting App and problem solved. Sounds as good.
Auralic Support
About two years ago I bought an Auralic Aries G1.1 Wireless Streaming Transporter from Audio Advisor. I understand that Auralic is no longer in business. Their support site no longer exists. What, if any, support can I get on this product?
Perhaps one of you can answer my question. The G1.1 sounds great, but lately it has quit streaming on Tidal after playing six or eight songs. Then it displays an error msg" Unable to play selected streaming track. I have determined that if I go to the Tidal setting (in the Arualic Lightning app) that I can clear the cache and the streamer will play again for six or eight songs and then the same error message appears.
I do not believe this is a Tidal issue. I havs deleted and signed into Tidal a couple of times with the result. As well, I have a Cambridge MXN10 streamer on my desktop that is plugged into the same ethernet switch as my G1.1 and it has no problems. Cambridge uses the same smart device interface associated with Auralic.
I suspect that the G1.1 has a firmware issue because Auralic no longer updates. Whatever the issue, it is a damned shame that an expensive piece of gear can be so quickly consigned to the scrap heap because the manufacturer no longer supports it. I have written to Audio Advisor for advice but haven't received an answer yet.
Any suggestions?

I recommend a used Aurender streamer. I first owned an Auralic Aries G2 and had lots of problems with it, with poor, slow support. So I traded it in on an Aurender. I now have two Aurender, better sound quality and great support. I would look for a used one. They will not be going out of business, they are probably the largest high end manufacturer. |
Here's an update on my G1.1. I deleted all my user settings, which (I think) restores the unit to factory settings. Then I rebooted and reestablished wireless connection using my iPhone. Unit plays for a few songs and then gives an error msg while endlessly buffering. In other words, same problem. It seems to be worse when I play a mix or one of Tidal's playlists. I've been able to play one album in its entirety. Audio Advisor got back to me with a shrug saying that Auralic left us all "high and dry" and that AA can provide no support or any suggestions other than to Google it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. So, I'll keep monkeying with it and hope for the best for a while. However, I suspect that this problem will only get worse over time and I will have to replace. I note the recommendation for Aurender and have been looking at them. Does anyone know anything about the PS Audio Air Lens? I have their Stellar phono pre and am happy with it. |
@norcalal do you have a second streaming device in the house that’s logged into tidal using the same account? See if you log out of tidal on all devices except auralic, if the issue still persists. |
From what you have tried you may have narrowed it down to a hardware issue with the wifi chip or some other part of the streamer hardware beginning to fail. If you decide to replace it - I have two of the Aurender A1000 all in one models and I can highly recommend them. One bumped a Lumin U1 and Denafrips Venus II DAC out of the rotation with better sense of detail and timing. Be careful you get a newer Aurender product to get the new software (built in Tidal Connect etc). Otherwise Lumin has always been a good name for streamers. |
