Klipsch Cornwall IV

I have a pair of nearly new Klipsch Cornwall IV speakers for sale on this site. I am looking for opinions on the current status of the market for these loudspeakers. My ad has an asking price of $4300, which I believe is more than reasonable considering this pair is in mint condition and the price of a new pair is almost 7k. I see Forte IVs for sale for about the same asking price as Cornwall IVs. So, what gives, has the market for these collapsed? My ad has been up for a while and there hasn't been one inquiry about this ad.

The Klipsch are historcially important speakers, and have a dedicated loyal following (great efficiency makes them attractive to weak amplifiers). They are an aquired taste. But more objectively, they do not compare well with modern speakers.

There IS a market for them, but takes time since shipping is complicated/expansive and therefore only regional market considered.

They should sell in time. They are big, heavy, local sale and pickup only limits buyers, rough time of year to sell anything at that price, and you offer limited payment options...I've had to list similar a few times...

It’s a soft market.

If you want the maximum price you need to be willing to ship economically, get the details figured out and explain them in your ad.

If you absolutely won’t ship and you want to sell quickly you may need to knock $500 off the price…. and even that may not be enough.

I bought a brand new pair, shipped to me for $5,100 out the door. $7k is NOT what a “smart shopper” pays for them. As far as sound, I like them more than my Cornwall 1’s or my 1984 Klipschorn’s. The CW 4’s are GREAT speakers when paired with the right tube amp system!

I was an early adopter. My pair were only 4k brand new including delivery. Two years later I sold them for that same price. Great speakers.
