I'm currently at the lowest cost sweet spot according to this:  ls 50 metas + carefully integrated sub in smaller room.

One thing I have read elsewhere not considered here is dispersion pattern differences from model to model which can make a difference depending on how setup.

Also overall frequency response with most models are similarly very good but not exactly the same....YMMV.

ls 50 metas + carefully integrated sub in smaller room.

I had this for a few years, and it was a great setup. I went to Maggie LRS+ (to try) and them Mini when I went from a small room to an even smaller room. Maggies sound much bigger than the LS50 Meta. The LS50 Meta sounds cleaner than the LRS+ and about the same level of detail as the Mini. The Maggies are surprisingly easier to place in a small space than the LS50 Meta.

I used the KEF KC62 sub with all 3 speakers.

Interesting. GR Research just tested the R3 Meta, which I own. From what I gathered, he praised the engineering and the fact that it was one of the most linear speakers he's tested. But of course he has to complain about "cheesy" parts and offer up a kit to improve them.

I think I'll just keep mine stock and enjoy listening to them while I munch on my Cheese its.
