Focal Scala Utopia V1

Hello I would like to apologize in advance I am very new to the audiophile world. I recently came across some Focal Scala Utopia V1's in very good condition with one small dent. They come with the boxes and all the original accessories and paperwork. He is asking $10,500 is this a good price in 2025? I can't seem to find any other of the V1's for sale to compare prices. I appreciate any help.

The other questions to ask are if the going rate on these is a good value relative to new models, speakers that might not have as high an original asking price but based on new advancements may outperform these speakers.  Based on the where these speakers sit in the Focal line, would think that’s highly unlikely. That said, these won’t likely be all that easy to move at the price point you are looking at if you bought them today and wanted to move in a different direct a year or 2 down the road.  But you are buying a really high end, flagship speaker from a really well known, established speaker manufacture, hard to go wrong as long as you like their sound signature, have the electronics and right space for them.

If you are new to the audiophile world, a used 10K speaker is not your best bet.  (Even if the dent is not on the tweeter devil)

I heard these years ago hooked up to some large Monoblock Macs. They were VERY good. IMO

Thank you all for the help I really appreciate it lots of good information. A little more context is my father is heavily visually impaired and he listens to an old pair of Klipsch WF-35’s all day long. I am trying to surprise him and upgrade his setup since that is one of the few things he can enjoy. I took him to the rocky moutain audiofest once and he loved the Focal speakers, I realize its kind of crazy to jump into this head first but I’m trying to get him the best set up I can afford. My plan was to power these with a Gen 2 Emotiva XPA-2 until I can find him a better amp.
