What do your hard-earned dollars go toward?

After finding the "perfect" system within your budget, how do you then tweak it for maximum performance?

1. Mechanical isolation e.g., racks and footers

2. Electrical isolation e.g., power conditioners, power supplies and dedicated lines

3. Acoustic isolation e.g., room treatment

4. My system is just fine out of the box and I would rather spend money on more music

5. Other

1, 2, 3 & 5 simultaneously. All are important to reveal the best performance from audio chain components.  Unfortunately it can get costly in a hurry.

(1) Dedicated audio room, built from ground up to be an audio room. Electrical, insulation, vibration, size, orientation, room treatments, etc. all taken into consideration

(2) Upgrade streamer to one of the usual suspects, Lumin, Aurender, Grimm, etc.

(3) Upgrade my beloved Denafrips Pontus II DAC, right now T+A, Denafrips Terminator 15th, Weiss, Lampizator, Berkeley Audio, Mola Mola, etc

Today, I auditioned and purchased a pair of Dali Oberon 5s (I chose black ash) at a local and well established hifi store nearby that happed to be on sale at $500 off. I've been looking at getting a pair for a very long time to use with my Naim Nait 5Si in addition to the Neat Motive SX2s that I also use with the Nait.

I was lucky they had the Nait 5Si in house and I got to use it with the 5CD Si that I discovered is a wonderful player and sounded beautiful with the Nait and the Oberon 5s. I used the CD layer of my MoFi Super Audio SACD of Patricia Barber's Verse, tracks 5 - 7 and the 2016 Rhino Entertainment Co., remaster CD of Linda Ronstadt's Mas Canciones, track 6 & 7 all of which this combo portrayed spectacularly!

Can't wait to set them up with my Nait and listen to them with the rest of my wonderful source components and media.
