Apparition Speaker Cables

The new cable line from Rick Shultz former High Fidelity Cables . Are really quite good. I think they are much improve over the original High Fidelity cables. They replaced my Transparent Reference MM2 speaker cables. Transparent makes some nice cables. At first listening the Hi and Mids where only slightly better. But the more time i got on them they pulled away. The bass i think at first Transparent was just a touch lower. But the Apparition where quicker and have more snap or power behind them. Now that i have a bout 30 hours on them they have tied Transparent in the lower octaves, but much quicker snap. There is a greater notice of clarity in the sound, and no harshness. A very smooth presentation and detailed sound. It has a richness to it that is very enjoyable The more listening sessions i have with the cable the sounds just gets better. The cable itself is much different looking than the High Fidelity of old cables. Gone are the heavy medal looking wave guides. Now they are a carbon fiber guide, still tube in shape, Now they come with a pedestal stand that raises them off the floor a couple inches. Also the wire is different in color gone is that white wire. The new wire has a more rust or copper shade to it. Rick told me that the newer wire is a up grade form the original. I think the wave guide is sleeker or sexy looking  more than before. More of a show piece look to it very finished.

I read some of the comments. I first listened to Rick Schultz cables from the Virtual Dynamics days.We talking over 20 years. He may comes and goes a million times but, you know what, all I care about is the SOUND. I have never had any problems dealing with Rick. Any haters happen to be in the NYC area can always stop by my Sound room for a listen. The Emersion and Apparition and some legacy HFC, is right here adding to the Realism. Dont believe the Hype.

I hope this time Rick will be able straighten up. I like Him very humble and kind in person. Though what happen the last time  many of his buyers were left hanging? Do I blame anyone here who lost trust in him.No. Will I buy again from Rick? Yes I will.

Rick is a bit of an enigma, I remember his biblical series cables which were sold at astronomical prices until he created and sold a mid-priced cable that turned out to be a contender for his high priced offerings. Strange but true. It was quite unfortunate for everyone involved but hardly intentional.

I bought an XLR cable from Rick after this incident with magnetic technology which was my best IC by far, better than far more expensive Tara Labs etc.

This cable crapped out at the end of last year, after over 15 years. Open circuit on one core. I couldn't find a way to open the cable plug so I contacted Rick and he gave me a very generous part exchange deal on a new Apparition.

This led me to upgrading my ICs and speaker cables to Apparition. I also have an Apparition power cable on my N20.

The ICs are fantastic and I would say the speaker cables are in the style of Nordost Valhalla 2.

Very, very pleased with the results after a long break in. Nothing will take my Dragon HC power cables from my power amps though.
