I am delighted with my Coda 16.0. Been using it for 3 plus years and have no intention of changing. Driven by a VAC preamp. Enjoy!
AVM SA 6.3 Stereo Amplifier - Any thoughts?
Hello all..Looking for your valuable opinions. I have an aging Gamut D200 amplifier and I am looking for a replacement. As Gamut no longer manufactures electronics I am looking at the AVM SA 6.3 stereo power amplifier vs an offshoot of Gamut, the Gato Pwr222 Monoblocks. I’m looking for opinions on either but mostly the AVM brand, as Gato shares near identical topology with Gamut. Unfortunately no AVM dealers anywhere close. Thanks to all!

@catastrofe I am still an AVM dealer and am catching up on things I let slip as I was getting ready for NY Audio Show. I can't speak about Coda. AVM vs Bricasti...I lean toward Bricasti largely because of Brian's brilliant customer service. AVM makes nice amps and I like the sound. Bricasti is a slightly better product IMO. With AVM, I feel like the 8.3 is the amp to get. You could also look at Orpheus, Audia Flight and Acoustic Arts. Audia Flight is MOSFET based, Accustic Arts Bi-Polar and Orpheus uses both. orpheus literally sounds like a blend of the other two. |
