I'm Retiring to a Trailer, and I have a LOT of vintage equipment. What to do?

Hi All!

As the title says, I'm downsizing and selling my collection.  I live in Sonoma County, Northern California.

It seems daunting to individually market, pack and ship each item, so is it possible to sell it all at once, even if it's a substantial "loss"...

I would truly appreciate any sage advise.

Here is a list and a link to photos.

There was not enough room for the Dahlquists or a set of JBL L150 towers, tht are both still in service in other rooms.

While TMR is a great place, they don't take everything. Many things they will not take. They do consignment though.

If possible, and at a price concession, you need to find someone who'll take it all. That way you can box it all up in a crate(s) and ship on a pallet

You might contact Curt Palmer who owns Reel to Reel Tech.  I think he is always looking for restorable Reel to Reel Decks and he is a fantastic guy to deal with.

You're going to have to rent a storage unit. The big stuff, like those 10" r-r deck, Klipsh speakers, etc. are difficult to ship. Use the Craigslist or Nextdoor websites to list them locally. There's always eBay but they charge a lot when you sell, and with all the competition, you won't get near top dollar.

Of course there's, Audiogon. Also Reverb for studio applicable gear like the JBL L112 and L100 and the RpR decks.

Or - see if you can do a consignment deal with a stereo shop: Here;s a list you can start with:

@misc-audio in my part of the country (Ohio) we have online auction services like auctionohio.com and they often have a lot of vintage equipment for sale.  I am sure that in your part of the country they would have similar services.  When these auctions go up they are sometimes for up to 30 days, and then the company handles the payments (the sale prices all get adjusted as well so that the buyers pay the auction fees), coordinates the buyers coming and picking up, etc.  Then it is cleared out pretty quickly.  Of course some stuff remains unsold I suppose and then other decisions would have to be made.  Something to consider.
