What’s playing on your turntable…. Does anyone care?

When l was in a previous discussion l questioned the value myself if l would want to tell anyone what l was listening to. I have always wondered why do some posters feel compelled on a regular basis to tell others what’s playing on their turntable?

What makes someone want to do that? Personally l fail to see the point. So l have posted this question to others to test if there’s any curiosity value in it. What would an analyst make if it all. Is it a form of attention seeking?

mylogic

It's like me asking my fellow cigar smokers what puros they've been enjoying lately. Maybe I'll find a gem I hadn't tried before or, in the case of an LP, something I hadn't heard of or thought of listening to.

It's socialzing. It's sharing. It's finding common ground, which of late has been all too rare.

As for me, I'm going to go spin the Telarc's pressing of "Igor Stravinsky - The Firebird Suite".

Happy listening.

It’s that exactly the post above me. I am too ignorant to even begin to appreciate the music they are suggesting. my God, I grew up on AC/DC and Prince and you guys want me to listen to this obscure stuff what the hell! I always envied Charles on M*A*S*H for I knew that was something that I could never understand.

Im guilty of lazy correspondence and punctation

both appear to lead to many deep friendships,,, about music, life and death and tonight… soup and a T-bome…

of course you could ask Joe who initiated the thread… …

I personally love it when people post what they are spinning on their tables as I find it's a great way to discover some new music.

Best wishes,

Don
