What’s playing on your turntable…. Does anyone care?
When l was in a previous discussion l questioned the value myself if l would want to tell anyone what l was listening to. I have always wondered why do some posters feel compelled on a regular basis to tell others what’s playing on their turntable?
What makes someone want to do that? Personally l fail to see the point. So l have posted this question to others to test if there’s any curiosity value in it. What would an analyst make if it all. Is it a form of attention seeking?

Some people on this forum have had *conversations* in the *past* and when they share what they're listening to, they stir up those past discussion partners for *new* conversations. You know, for fun or edification. Others may have discovered that people sometimes have ways of *talking* about music that invites them in, provokes interesting commentary, new perspectives. Those are just two easy to think of answers. The fact that you "have always wondered" about this question is not a huge advertisement for imagination or mental acuity, so I have to call you brave for starting this thread. |
@hilde45 l did try to implant some innuendo into this discussion. Sometimes being a little vague inspires conversations. Invokes a response when there might not be one. Thank you for your comments…. I will have a look in the mirror. 😳 |
@limomangus …turn of the page…. l was being nosey and see you posted about John Lodge R.I.P. Isn’t life strange… I mentioned the Moodys in this discussion. Last heard him in Concert in Devon England in 2016. A small regional fringe venue at The Babbacombe Theatre with his own band. A very intimate show, and he was persuaded while on tour by his keyboard player to revive a song never played live in concert by the Moodys, “Candle of Life” Obviously when playing in a 600 seater in the far South West, he wasn’t in it for the money at that point.
