What’s playing on your turntable…. Does anyone care?

This feels like a troll... but I'll bite because the answer is very simple.  It's called being social.  It's no different than discussing what TV series we are watching, or books we are reading or podcasts.  This is a very valid and common and healthy way of socializing among your peers.  

You don't personally have to engage in it, at all.  That's fine, but I find it odd you feel uncomfortable that others are perfectly comfortable talking about it.  Given the focus of this site is too often on what we are buying for equipment, socializing around music seems much more culturally important.

l don’t actually object to users posting what’s on their spinners. Just asking a question.  The answers do not have to be negative either to justify my question. I’m open minded and just curious.

If the replies prove to be too controversial l will of course take it down. If on the other hand the replies are respectful, balanced and humorous, the discussion will have served to answer many socialising questions. They may well indeed support your own specific evaluation of the subject matter.

As one who does this regularly because I love sharing the music I’m playing with like-minded people. That can turn into sharing of music previously unknown and general conversation.

Sharing tastes is mutually beneficial particularly if the artists are not just bullet points.  Some reasons and observations add value and open up a discussion.

However if just an artist(s) name is posted on it’s own, (l have not read yours, so I’m not implying you), it is just lazy correspondence.
