To antiskate or not antiskate

Well that's the question,  as I'm evaluating the latest addition in my setup.

A dr feickert woodpecker with a clearaudio unify 12 inch tonearm and lyra titan cartridge.

This is my first encounter with this kind of setup so any advice is welcome !

RB, my most expensive cartridge is a ZYX UNIverse that I bought used for $2K from another Aussie who was a frequenter of this website. I’m an audio cheapskate

I’m an audio cheapskate

Your system lists Ortofon MC-7500 and MC2000, Koetsu, Stanton, Grace, Acutex, Dynavector, etc phono cartridges, plus Lenco L75, Kenwood L07D, Technics SP-10 mkIII and Denon DP80 turntables.  Have you been telling porkies?

It is quite possible @lewm values the used second hand market that can increase his buying power. I know l do.

This approach increases the choices and variety of gear that can be assembled. Better to pass on that equipment if you need to, and make back most of the investment. Within a chosen budget it can be in most cases a winning situation.

Bought all the expensive cartridges used from trusted sources, except the Urushi which I bought new in Tokyo for $1700, when they were about $5K in the US. I didn’t pay more than $2K for any. I don’t tell porkies, whatever those are. I was able to score many of the vintage MM and MI cartridges NOS for under $1000.
