Eye Candy

I also love the glow of the tubes in a darked room... Until I turn on the rest of the gear and get blinded by those blinding blue and white LEDs everyone likes using. The blue and green painters tape I have to use to cover them kinda kills the aesthetic.  LOL

As cold weather sets in I may need to rotate in my tube amp.  So maybe the turntable does have a little competition.

Get these neutral density stickers to cover. They can be nearly invisible. I use one to cover the none adjustable Ambeo indicator on our Sennheiser sound bar.

Thanks, just ordered the stickers from Amazon.

My two biggest offenders are a Schiit DAC on the main system with white LEDs that you can read by, and a modified Dared tube pre-amp on the bedroom system that has a blue LED that is so bright that I swear has burned a hole in the wall across the room.  And worse yet, the one on the Dared pre is so bright, that I can actually tell when AC voltage is dipping because the LED pulses.   LOL

I’m with you on turntables. I love the piano black gloss of the plinth on mine. It goes well with the Mana Acoustics Reference Table it sits on.

Unfortunately, my loudspeakers are big and ugly things that dominate the room.
