Speaker change
Hi all. I am thinking of changing out my Dynaudio Special Heritage speakers and I want to stay with stand mount speakers. My system consists of Hegel H390, Gustard X30 DAC, Eversolo A6 (streaming only) and two REL 7tx subs. It all sounds very good but like many of you, after a couple of years or so, I want to hear the music I like and know, maybe sounding better. I am thinking of the Platimon VC-1 speakers which are comparably priced with the Dynaudio HS and have gotten pretty good reviews. Imaging and soundstage are important to me. Does anyone have them? And if so, how do you like them?

@jmnextime1 I perfectly understand your objective. Nothing wrong with it. The Dynaudios are relatively small and that determines the soundstage. If you want to stick with monitors, they won't get much bigger. If you are in a small room, the size would be no issue. My short list would be Harbeth, Marten, Sonus, Raidho or Qln speakers. I wasn't impressed with Raidhos lately but that could be the dealer's setup. |
I just heard these at the NY Audio Show Tonian Labs, Small Stand Mount, extra tweeter on top https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3Gc6jPMy7w https://tonianlabs.com/tonianacoustic.htm This is the best stand mounted speaker I ever heard, just outstanding! I would probably ask him to stain the edges of the front panel and driver cutouts of the Baltic Plywood, that’s a ’finish’ issue, but the sound I simply cannot forget. I think they are more efficient than typical 2 ways also.
