There is a real problem using percentages. One can talk yourself into any frame of reference. So, if you think about a cheap 1960’s transistor radio, a 1970’s consumer stereo, a current midfi system. Then compare a high end $50K system with a $100K high end system… it would be hard to conclude there is more than a <..1% difference.
if you think just about your last $50K system with your new $100K system… huge difference.
The % thing is just fraught with problems.
if you break things down into dozens of attributes like bass transients, and micro details… you can communicate differences.
