Amazing Cartridge Repairs by Vinyl Audio Science!

I have known Steve and his son for almost 15 years. Steve was the brains behind the tonearms at VPI for MANY years. His honesty is without question. His workmanship is impeccable, and his labor prices are very fair. 

He has done at least 7 cartridges of mine from a Koestu Rosewood to various Denns and LINNs. He is also a master at rewiring tonearms with Cardas silver wire

He can put any cantilever and tip on you want...from reasonable to very expensive. He has always been there if I had questions or concerns.

Steve recently repaired the suspension in my ZYX 4D. I sent the cartridge to him because the cantilever looked severely skewed. He said it was because the suspension became misaligned. He saved me money by doing the repair, when he could have charged me more for a new cantilever and stylus. The cartridge works perfectly now.
 

A couple of years ago, I sent Steve a Denon DL-S1 cartridge for a retip. This used to be Denon’s top of the line cartridge, which came with an aluminum cantilever and elliptical stylus. I had him install a boron cantilever with a micro ridge stylus. This turned out to be a winning combination, which rivals, and in some ways surpasses my ZYX 4D in sound quality. It is also better sounding than my retipped Dynavector XV1-S in my opinion. If anyone has this particular cartridge and is in need of a retip, I highly recommend upgrading with the boron and micro ridge combination. I feel like I have a $5000 cartridge at a fraction of the cost.
