How to dispose of your system?

A lot of us are getting to the age where  we may start thinking about what will happen to our precious systems when we’re gone?  Will they be sold in pieces, breaking up the synergy we’ve worked so hard to establish? That seems to me to be criminal.
What about trying to sell the whole system, kit and kaboodle, maybe to a member of this forum? Would anyone, perhaps a novice, be willing to pay for a very finely tuned instrument?
If the system cost say,  $35K to put together, what would a fair price be?

This maybe morbid but, who cares your dead, your love of your system is your love not anyone else’s. After spending 6+ month selling off a good friend’s system after he passed, I would suggest not having friends do this work its time consuming and a pain in the you know what. Arrange to have a dealer come get it all and sell it all off for your dependents, put this in your will if you think that will help. Don’t burden them or your friends with this chore because after your gone that’s what it is, a chore to deal with, especially if they are grieving.

I dont want  to be pessimist but in the years to come there will appear suddenly many stereo systems on the  used market at these times at very low price.  Wars, epidemies, civil unrests will increase.

I dont give a damn about my low cost stereo system and no more about my books...

I understand all those who want to spare the pain of the disposal arrangement...

But there is way more hard problems appearing in our windows...

Nobody can sell his system before dying ...

And dont trouble yourself with these details which can appear soon  like dust facing  a harsher tempest ...

It is not hard to be prophet nowadays....

At least explain your system to a few members of your family so they at least understand how the pieces fit together and work.  Maybe preparing a document that summarizes the key aspects of each component.

I like the idea about naming a family member in your will to assume all the stuff.

I think everyone here takes for granted that people understand their system but so many times people walk through the door and say what is all this stuff. They only recognize the speaker and are clueless about everything else.

Chat GPT has a wonderful memory system that keeps track of my entire life at this point. I use it to list out all my hifi gear because it needs the information to provide great information to me about ideas and so forth.  I guess if I asked it to explain to me what all these components do it probably would. So maybe doing this and printing it out and keeping it in your personal documents would be an easy way to do it.  Also ask GPT to provide estate planning ideas. Really good at this.

At this point I ask GPT to do everything for me. I ask for dinner planning ideas I provide a list of everything I’ve shopped for at the grocery store and it tells me the nutritional value of everything I’m doing.  It's really hard to buy food that's good for you.

i download pictures and it evaluates them.  I take pictures of my room it gives me acoustical advice. It will give me remodeling advice.

Won't do you much good when you're dead and unlikely anyone will care about it like you did...

The last time my son was over I showed him my secret stash spot (safe).   I said when I'm dead go here first ...
