Hana Umami Black
Just noticed on the Hana cartridge site that they've made an Umami Black cartridge for $11.5k, it must be absolute one hell of a cart. If its been out a while and I'm just lost on the times, my apologies! Anyone with deep pockets who gets one, please report. I've been running an Umami Red since it came out and damn for 3x the cost this must be a dynamo!

Despite the hostility towards high-end 5-figure cartridges I’m interested how the Hana Black fares against the Dynavector XV-1t or the Lyra Etna Lambda SL, in similar price range. I have a Lyra Atlas Lambda SL and the Mono, plus a Dynavector XV-1s and Koetsu Rosewood (I have three tonearms, so one of my cartridges is always in the box). My dealer is a Hana dealer. I hope they bring a Black in and put it on the Clearaudio Innovation Wood they took in on trade from me recently. :) |
The Cantilever > Stylus being one that is reported as being same that is used by as another Cartridge Producer, and has a known cost for the Part. Suggests the $7K increase in cost, has a lot of the addition to the price for the covering the purchase of the very bespoke part selected. That is a lot of $'s to have the Diamond Cantilever>Stylus experience.

@dwette what table did you move to? I've been considering moving up to an Innovation from my Ovation. I've purchased a Kuzma 4 Point 9 and can't decide if I should mount it or move up tables. |
At first I upgraded from an Ovation I had for 12 years or so, to an Innovation Wood with two 12" Universal tonearms (2023). This summer I upgraded that to a Master Innovation and also got a third tonearm (Tracer). |
