I use a M2 Tech Joplin and Isotope RX to rip my LPs. There is a wealth of information over on Steve Hoffman like 247 pages worth... https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/your-vinyl-transfer-workflow-sharing-best-needledrop-practices.250442/

I've ripped 7,000 plus lps over the past 12 years. At one point I was going all digital but the lp format for me is more satisfying, both sonically and from a tactile perspective. My first batch of rips was done using an RME PCI card. After a few thousand lps I switched to a PS Audio converter. Definitely did not like the sound of the converted files. All were done to FLAC at 192/24. Last year I bought another RME card but PCIe and all is good. Software during this entire time has been Vinyl Studio made by Alpine Soft in the UK for which I cannot say enough good things. Biggest pain is making sure the needle and records are clean and that you don't overload the recording. Otherwise, relatively easy and can also be done inexpensively if that's a requirement. |
Clearly this is an enjoyable activity for @barolobrain otherwise access could be gained to all these recordings and a million more for $12/month through streaming. |
