Soundsmith Relocating

I sent my Sussurro MK II ES to Soundsmith for a rebuild a little over 6 months ago. I got acknowledgement of their receipt and an estimate of 8 to 14 weeks. Since I hadn't received any status I sent an email and received this reply. I'm sure this will affect others as well so I thought I would post it here for everyones information:

Soundsmith is force to suddenly move our business AFTER 30 YEARS in our current location. As you might imagine, this is very challenging and consuming much of our time. We had almost no notice of this from the new building owner.

We appreciate your inquiry and will keep you on our list of customers to service very soon after we move, unpack, set up and re-start our reputation of unique and artisan business services of manufacturing and repair. We deeply appreciate your patronage and patience during this challenging period for us as a small company.

Just to be clear, I'm not really complaining about Soundsmith, I actually understand better now why I've been waiting.  I posted it just to let people know who might also be waiting.  I'm sympathetic to what has happened, though it would have been nice to get a more proactive notification.  Hopefully they can sort things out quickly so they can get back to business.

They seem to have been running late for a while.  It took about 9 months turn around on my Hyperion returned earlier this year.  Superb result, worth the wait.

OP, I too have a cartridge at Soundsmith that I sent in 2 weeks ago and got the note that they received it and the 8 to 14 weeks for the rebuild if necessary. WTS this is my 9th SS rebuild plus 4 or 5 carts sent in for cleaning, suspension repair or evaluation and have never waited more than 12 weeks for the returned repaired cart. I hope they get settled and will wait my turn as the cart is a backup. Enjoy the music

... Hopefully they can sort things out quickly ...

Like you, I wish Soundsmith the best, but I do not think the move will be quick. I've been to Soundsmith, and they have gear stacked to the ceiling. It's all very neat and organized, but they have a ton of stuff in there, like a museum. Moving it all to new space will be a huge undertaking.
