Let's talk music, no genre boundaries

I listened to Sampson Francois playing Ravel's Piano Concerto. Excellent. He made the throughline exquisitely clear. I will have to listen to Martha Argerich play the same piece. She is known for playing Ravel.

Samson has tremendous clarity. You can follow Ravel's melodic thread without ever getting lost. The orchestra behind him shines, also.

Argerich does not have his clarity but she has a wamrer touch. In a number of the pianists you have had me listen to, I don't think warmth was at the top of your list. One male pianist I can think off the top of my head who had warmth was Alfred Brendel (who just died), Horowitz, of course, warmed the cockles of his audience's heart. I think Argerich combines warmth with clarity, but will lean into warmth sometimes at the expense of clairty. You might listen to her play a piece you know very well, so that you can judge her better.

If you have the time and interest, Mitsuko Uchida has a CD with two of Beethoven's piano concertos, the 28th and 29th, the Hammerklavier, his most difficult to play.

Thanks for the impression Argerich as Uchida ( i adored in Mozart) are great pianists...

My point was Samson was in the same class...

I will listen Argerich in Scriabin i never did ...

Warmer may refer to the flowing dynamical gesture of the touch in a delicate way or the way the pianist  is able to create colors and not black and white hard precision...

I think Samson is able to create colors. Brendel too but his delicate touch is unique among many pianists.
