I see no reason why you shouldn't mention Bob Brookmeyer. Somebody who has never heard of him might like him. I also listen to Dave Grusin. 

I did want to mention, though, that every now and then I have those elevated moments. Last night was one of them. I streamed an album of Horowitz playing Scriabin. I liked it and appreciated Horowitz's musical intelligence and ability. But I agree with you that the people you recommended had their own inner musical timing and also allowed the music to become ugly at times where it needed to be. I would say in this comparison we're making that Horowitz did not allow his music to become ugly enough. It is difficult for performers trained in the art polishing music into gleaming beauty to delve into the uglyness of composers like Scriabin or Schumann. 

So tell me again who are the two best pianists who play Scriabin. Thanks

I want to know who the erotic female singer is. I can't even imagine pulling that off (pun not intended). I think the most erotic female singer I've ever heard is Donna Summers, and it doesn't hurt to look at her or at least her photo on the album.Janet Jackson did try to be erotic, but I always thought she was trying too hard.

You must had use the word "expressive" ...I dont like ugly playing even in ugly music ...

There is no "uglyness " in Scriabin or Schumann. Is a poet like you lacking words so much  to describe expressiveness  going into the depth of the soul you must be constrained to use the word "ugly" ... ??

I dont see the point to speak about any musician i can like at some point in some day while i am doing something else as background music..

If i dont admired deeply a musician over the crowd of good musician i am not moved to speak about him with passion enough to convince people he deserve it...

I like Brookmeyer like hundred of others musician so what ?

I prefer to speak of those who moves me in other dimension and whom i cannot listen casually when reading news etc

I own 20 albums of Brookmeyer i like him but it is not genius...

 

Something i dislike on music thread is when people put a name a title album and said they like it...

 When we recommend something we must explain why it moves us, clearly and with details...

I had nothing to say about the excellent Bob Brookmeyer...

But i can explain with "words"  why Sun Ra and Dickerson playings is pure genius..

 

I dont see the point  also to recommend the same hit parade of musicians...

Above i recommended Beethoven, a common place  of classical music, but i explained why...

 This pianist rival Rubinstein in natural and grace and his expressiveness  win over the never icy "perfection" of Moravec who is one of the greatest pianist i know ( i own all his albums) Then Samson Francois is a giant indeed... No virtuosity is felt here only pure poetry...
