Looking to Develop A Short List For An Interconnect

OP  I want something that is a degree or two more upfront and energetic than the Wireworld.

The best natural upfront sound IC is Wavetouch audio IC. WT IC doesn’t have the veil sound. There is nothing between your ears and speakers. Therefore, WT IC sounds cleanest and close to the original music.

All other ICs have the veil sound which masks the real music behind speakers. Veil sounds are in between your ears and speakers. Some ICs sound forward, but then the veil sound is too forward and hit your ears and eyes (brighten and irritating forward sounds).

Your ears may be biased to other ICs and might not hear below WT ICs sound correctly. Then compare with the original music as a reference. Alex/Wavetouch audio

When I started putting my system together - went with Tributaries, American owned & built in-house; founded by a former McIntosh engineer. They have three levels of each...entry, mid-range, and their top tier = Series 8. Again, very happy with my initial purchase of Tributaries...for 12 years...price-performance, hard to beat. Fine-tuning the past few years; I feel at this point - done with cables & interconnects.

I'm not sure if either of these amps are for you. The real key in putting the perfect system together is to get the components right. Then you strike out to get interconnects and power cords that do not change to sound at all. 

I'd recommend revamping your search for the right amp. When you find one that sounds perfect in your system, then go looking for perfectly neutral wires (Transparent).

@OP Is your system visible - I can't see it. Frankly, unless someone is providing views on interconnects based on them having exactly the same system as you, it is just a game of pin the tail on the donkey. I do not know the first amp you refer to - the one you do not own. However, what I would say is that if you find the Constellation amp dark sounding compared to it then I shudder to think what it sounds like. The other thing I would say is that cables should not be used as tone controls - ghdprenticese's post above is absolutely correct in that regard.
