8 Reasons why you should buy an $50,000 DAC

It is great to hear you are loving your DAC. It is not surprising. Every large investment I have made has rewarded me with more than I expected. I do my research of course. There have been some instances when a greater investment did not result in better sound (different, but not better to me) and I did not make the investment. 

I love the comments about it not being worth it. First it is exceedingly unlikely they have had the DAC (in this case) in their system and evaluated it. Also, pretty unlikely they have the means to purchase it. I have a $20K DAC. If I was wealthier I the investment of all my components would likely be proportionally larger than they are now. Audio is important to me, and I have not experienced drop off in improvements in sound quality with increased investment. Some house sound are in the wrong vein for me... but I don’t buy those.

And don’t forget that you can use it as a $25K trade in on that $75 thousand dollar DAC. 😁

It is a common place Lapalisade, a truism, a tautology almost,  that most high end costlier design  are better than much less costlier one ..

The problem is when we  speak merely about high end  gear pieces  without putting it in an acoustics important context and without explaining  how any system at any price can be optimized to reach at least "a minimal acoustical experience threshold"  we are misleading people into marketing minefield instead of educating them with the basics ...

If i could afford it i will buy a 50,000 dac, i love music and books period. But i am so happy with my low cost optimized system  which i created myself in my dedicated room, i dont give a damn about a 50,000 dac i cannot afford..

Acoustics has taught me what is a good timbre natural and i had it in this minimal acoustical experience window, I am happy for those who can experience it in a maximal acoustical experienve window, but what matter is how to optimize any system at any cost to reach the minimal  satisfying experience...Not boasting about our gear...

i am interested by optimization method and devices not by gear price as most people without big budget are  ...

What is timbre and how do we act on his perception  at any price ?
