YG Acoustics Tor!
Speaker change
Hi all. I am thinking of changing out my Dynaudio Special Heritage speakers and I want to stay with stand mount speakers. My system consists of Hegel H390, Gustard X30 DAC, Eversolo A6 (streaming only) and two REL 7tx subs. It all sounds very good but like many of you, after a couple of years or so, I want to hear the music I like and know, maybe sounding better. I am thinking of the Platimon VC-1 speakers which are comparably priced with the Dynaudio HS and have gotten pretty good reviews. Imaging and soundstage are important to me. Does anyone have them? And if so, how do you like them?

Harbeths excel with Hegel amps 30.1 / 30.2 / SHL5 all are unmatched for jazz, classical, blues, country - all things acoustic and vocals. And though they really don’t need subs - your RELS mate well. You will be amazed! I’ve got the 30.1 and 40.2 - and they sound as good as my Maggies and Linkwitz Orions. |
@jmnextime1 Have you heard the TAD ME1-TX speakers? There are probably only a few examples in the US so far since the US distributor recently changed. Can you provide some feedback? How do they compare to the Dynaudio Special Heritage speakers? On a side note, I would suggest upgrading from the Eversolo A6 as your streamer. Their customer service is poor. I moved from the A6 to the Innuos Pulse which was a fantastic upgrade. Then I moved up another few steps to the Aurender N20 which was even more revealing. I doubt if the N20 will ever leave my system. Looking at the items you have listed for your system on various posts (consider listing your complete system in the virtual system here on Audiogon) the most impactful upgrade may be your streamer instead of the speakers. Enjoy the journey. |
