HiFi Rose RS150B vs. Eversolo DMP-A10

I have an Eversolo DMP-A8 that I just moved to a system in a second home, so now I need to replace the streamer/DAC in my primary system. I started with a Cary Audio DMS 550, then replaced it with the DMP-A8, with a linear power supply upgrade, now thinking about going with the RS150B or the new DMP-A10. Any thoughts about the two? The streamer/DAC will be connecting to my Accuphase E-4000 integrated. The internal storage of the streamer is important to me as it houses my main music library - ripped SACD's so mainly all DSD files.

@josephp732 I purchased it from Summit. At first he was working with me to get a replacement, but then his inventory was depleted so he was willing to give me credit towards an A6 Master (A8 was not yet released). Then when Eversolo offered to take the unit back to China he dropped out of the discussion.

I tried three different SSD cards. The 1st one was not Samsung, but a relatively known brand. The SSD card worked with two other computers, just not the A6. Then I tried one, then another Samsung (different models) from Best Buy. Both worked in my two other computers but not the A6. The final SSD I also tried in a friend's Aurender and it worked fine there. Something was wrong with the A6.

At the time I asked to replace the A6 with a refurbished or new unit. Summit initially stated he was willing, but then backed out of that when Eversolo became more involved.

At the end of the day the customer service of both the internet seller (out of Canada) and the manufacturer was poor. There are so many options out there I decided to eliminate them from my choices.

I have worked with Upscale Audio a few times and they have been terrific. Unfortunately, I always ended up going a different direction either depending on options or price. I have found TMR to be helpful and with a a tremendous return program. There are a couple of SoCal dealers I also work with that have been outstanding. There are a lot of wonderful dealer and manufacturing options out there. My favorite manufacturers are currently Pass Labs, LTA and Bricasti.  A+ with everything. Innuos is decent, but just a notch below. Currently exploring a move from Innuos to Aurender. Still researching.

@thriftyaudio Thank you for sharing your experience. It's never easy when it's an issue like you described - especially on newly released gear. I do, as probably you do, feel that in general most manufactures and dealers will go out of their way to help problem solve. I have read on many forums about early support issues from Eversolo - usually those experiences are hard for manufacture to recover from and rebuild the consumers trust. I wish you all the best on your journey and let us know what you finally settle on. (Innous and Aurender are great products).

@josephp732 you obviously like the Eversolo sound. I owned them all up,to the 8. I’ve head them sound ok in other systems but not mine. I owned the Hi Rose 150 transport and I thought the A8 was better sounding. One of my amps is an ACCUPHASE 380 and the aurender N200 did it for me. Unlike the others it was very natural sounding and was on par with my cd transport. Conductor app is very easy to use unlike Hi rose.

Summit backed out of their offer to replace an A6 master too, blaming it on Eversolo.     Not good ambassadors of HiFi if you ask me.

Never any issues with Bluesound and especially Aurender.   Aurender is a different type of company.   Hardware is high end build,  really made to a different standard.   Remote support capability,  which is huge.

I believe I'm doing fellow forum members a favor by calling out the terrible support and breach of warranty by both Eversolo and Summit.   I thought Amir was OK,  I even praised his original support publicly.   He originally offered a replacement,  i told him I didn't want to send him a working unit unnecessarily.   We gave Eversolo an opportunity to fix the USB issue that never existed when new.   Never happened.   After assuring me he would take care of this unit Amir reneged on his original offer.    Blaming Eversolo.     Total POS company.   They are launching Luxsin. A brand name designed to confuse newbie audio enthusiasts.   Luxman , Luxsin.....  stay away from both, they are throw away devices.
